Description

Two weeks of conservatory-level training in New York City, built for performers who are serious about working — studio time, career strategy, and a room with agents and managers.

Program Highlights

  • Comprehensive Training: Intensive work in Acting, Musical Theatre, Voice, Dance, Stage Combat, and Stage to Studio, taught by working professionals in fully equipped studios.
  • Stage to Studio: Rehearse a number across the two weeks, then record it in a professional studio at The Academy of Music Production. The recording day is yours alone — nothing else is scheduled against it.
  • Advanced Cohort Track: Returning and advanced students split into their own sessions — Advanced Scene Lab, On-Camera Lab, Studio & Mic Technique Lab, and a Representation Readiness Session — while first-year students get the foundational version of the same hour.
  • Career Preparation: The Business of You and Personalized Career Path Planning put structure around what happens after the program ends.
  • Agent & Manager Meetings: The capstone of the two weeks. A critique-based master class with agents and managers who work with performers every day. This is professional feedback, not agent placement.
  • New York City Itself: A Circle Line Landmarks Cruise, a Director’s Choice Broadway Show, and the Moments & Memories Student Dinner — all attended by both cohorts together.

Why Choose The NYPAA Experience?

  • Balanced by Design: Both tracks run mirrored schedules. Every class carries the same instruction time in Uptown Service as it does in Downtown Service — no cohort gets the shorter version of anything.
  • Expert Instruction: NYPAA Faculty are working professionals who bring current industry practice into the room.
  • Prime Location: NYPAA Studios sit blocks from the Broadway houses, with the city’s audition rooms and rehearsal spaces on the same few streets.
  • All Levels Welcome: First-year and advanced students train side by side, with dedicated splits so nobody is held back or left behind.
  • Nonprofit Program: The NYPAA operates under The MusicSquared Foundation, a 501(c)(3). Tuition supports a mission-driven training program, not a commercial tour operator.

Join Us for an Unforgettable Summer The NYPAA Experience is a performing arts training program, not a tour. Two weeks of real instruction, a recording you keep, professional feedback from people who hire performers, and a company of peers who take it as seriously as you do.

Each cohort is capped so that studio time stays usable and every student is seen. Applications are reviewed as they arrive. Written for performers building a career. Students 18 and over train as their own cohort, with career strategy and industry access built into the two weeks.

Or take both. The Full Summer combines Session 1 and Session 2 into a single enrollment — twenty instruction days, July 5 through 30, 2027, with nothing repeated across the four weeks. A different Broadway show, a different cruise, and a second Stage to Studio recording in each session, plus Advanced Cohort placement in Session 2. $5,900 instead of $7,900 booked separately — $2,000 less, capped at eight seats per track. See The Full Summer. Downtown Service serves ages 18+. The companion track, Uptown Service, ages 13–17, runs the same ten instruction days on its own schedule: uptown.mysummer.nyc. The Circle Line cruise, the Broadway show, and the student dinner are attended by both cohorts together.

NYPAA Faculty Instruction is delivered by NYPAA Faculty — working actors, directors, music directors, choreographers, vocal coaches, and industry professionals who teach from current practice rather than theory. The 2027 faculty roster is confirmed closer to each session and published on the program site. Faculty assignments are subject to change. Location: NYPAA Studios, New York City.

Additional Costs: Program fees cover instruction and the included program experiences. Travel, lodging, visas, and meals outside scheduled program events are the student’s responsibility and are not included. Cancellation and Refund Policy: The NYPAA Experience is NON-REFUNDABLE under any circumstances; however, your payment can be credited toward a future NYPAA program. Summer Program Disclaimer: Our summer intensives are short-term, focused training. They are not a substitute for our full-year programs, but they are a genuine foundation and the clearest introduction to how NYPAA teaches. Faculty, rooms, and venues for 2027 are confirmed closer to the session and are subject to change. Instruction is delivered by NYPAA Faculty at NYPAA Studios.
